Chestnut Drive

Once an overgrown slope, this Hout Bay garden was transformed for a client who loves the garden more than the house. After waiting a long time to tackle the space, they were involved in every step — open to new ideas as the site revealed hidden rocks and boulders, which were thoughtfully worked into the design.
Clearing alien vegetation opened up valley views and created a sense of seclusion, while a Cape Dutch-inspired food garden now anchors the kitchen patio — a productive, personal space for a passionate grower.
